This picture is very unique and awe-inspiring. I see the picture where a Roman legion standing their ground against a barbarian horde is actually a best realistic picture I see. The armor looks very detailed and the legionaries along with the centurion are do their best to form up against the barbarian horde.
The scene is like before the battle begins or it's in the middle of the battle. The forest looks little frizzle and the distance of the barbarian horde is sort of fuzzed. The Roman legion marching up against the horde is very good despite of frizzle background.
This is some of the nicest work I have seen on deviant art. As a history buff i can tell you that the details of the legionaries and the centurion are very well drawn. You even got the focale sweatcloth on their necks right. As for the barbarians, the shield wall was very much the formation the germans would have used. This whole painting makes me think of the battle of the Teutoburg forest. The Romans look as if they were about to break after losing mny men but it is the commands of the centurion that encourages them to fight to the last man against an overwhelming enemy force. Unens agua bolson baina.
This is a pretty well-drawn picture! However... the way the Romans advance is rubbish. This way the Romans will drop like flies and look just stupid and desperate. "We are the only dozen Romans left, so die with honour!"
